Self-Employed Accounting Services
Accountancy Made Simple from only £28/month
As a sole trader or self-employed, your Self Assessment and your accounting are both part of your core package, for one fixed monthly fee.

Everything Needed for Self-Employed Support
Registering as self-employed, tracking income and expenses, filing your return correctly and on time: it’s a lot to manage alongside actually running your business. Caroola handles it as standard, not as something you have to add on.
Specialist Self-Employed Accounting Support
Our self-employed accounting services are provided by experienced accountants, not a tax return factory.
You’ll get your own dedicated accountant, not a shared inbox or a rotating support team.
Support is unlimited, and quarterly check-ins mean your accountant is looking at your numbers throughout the year, not just once before your Self Assessment deadline.

- Self Assessment tax return, prepared and filed
- Help registering as self-employed with HMRC
- Cloud accounting software included
- Bookkeeping guidance and record-keeping support
- Your own dedicated accountant
- Tax planning reviewed every quarter
- Support switching from another provider
Who are these services for?
At Caroola, we provide fixed-fee accounting for sole traders and self-employed people across every kind of business, from a first year freelancer to an established self-employed professional.
We’re also highly experienced with contractors, so if that’s how you work, we can give tailored guidance.

How to Register as Self-Employed
If you’re newly self-employed, you need to tell HMRC. You have until 5 October following the end of the tax year in which you started, to register for Self Assessment, though registering sooner makes the rest of the process easier.
We can handle the registration for you, or guide you through it if you’d rather do it yourself.
Registering:
Telling HMRC you're self-employed, by 5 October after the end of your first tax year.
Your UTR:
A Unique Taxpayer Reference, issued once you're registered, needed for every return.
Record Keeping
Tracking income and expenses from day one, not scrambling to piece it together later.
Your First Return:
Due by 31 January online, covering the tax year that ended the previous April.
Payments on Account:
Advance payments toward next year's tax bill, due alongside your return in some cases.
