VAT Accounting Services
Accountancy Made Simple from only £89/month
Once your taxable turnover crosses £90,000, VAT becomes part of running your business, whether you’re ready for it or not. Caroola handles your registration and your returns, added to your accounting package when you need it.

Everything Needed for VAT Accounting
Not every business needs to think about VAT straight away. Once you’re registered, whether required or by choice, you need accurate returns filed on time, every quarter. That’s where we come in.
Specialist VAT and Accounting Support
Our VAT and accounting services are provided by accountants who are technically qualified, industry accredited, and best-in-class accountancy with decades of experience, not a filing service.
You’ll get your own dedicated accountant for your accounting and your VAT, not a shared inbox or a rotating support team.
Support is unlimited, and quarterly check-ins mean your accountant is looking at your numbers throughout the year, not just once and then gone until the next deadline.

Included in your core accounting:
Cloud accounting software included
Payroll for one employee, run every month
Annual accounts, prepared and filed
Corporation Tax or Self Assessment
Your own dedicated accountant
Support switching from another provider
Available as an additional service:
VAT registration with HMRC
Quarterly VAT returns, prepared and filed
Advice on the right VAT scheme for your business
Who are these services for?
At Caroola, we provide fixed-fee accounting for businesses of every structure: sole traders, limited companies, partnerships and LLPs. If you’re VAT registered, or getting close to the threshold, we can add VAT to your package.
We’re also highly experienced with contractors and the self-employed, so if that’s how your business operates, we can give tailored guidance.

When Do You Need to Register for VAT?
Registration becomes compulsory once your taxable turnover passes £90,000 in any rolling 12-month period, not a tax year or calendar year. You have 30 days to notify HMRC once you cross it, or immediately if you expect to cross it within the next 30 days.
You can also register voluntarily below the threshold, which some businesses do to reclaim VAT on purchases. Either way, once you’re registered, the same rules and deadlines apply.
The Threshold:
£90,000 of taxable turnover in a rolling 12-month period, checked monthly, not against your accounting year.
Registration:
Notify HMRC within 30 days of crossing the threshold, or immediately if you expect to.
Effective Date:
VAT applies from the first day of the second month after you cross the threshold.
Flat Rate Scheme:
A simpler way to calculate VAT for some businesses, worth checking if it suits yours.
Deregistration:
If your turnover falls below £88,000, you may be able to cancel your registration.
